FIFA World Cup 2006 England Glory - 1966 / 2006

...It surely has a nice ring to it and would be a dream come true for the plethora of England fans who have never yet witnessed the creator of the beautiful game bring home the goods.

Although England have a pretty favourable group, with Paraguay, Trinidad & Tobago, and the dreaded Sweden; they will come through the group stages to the finals and then, with a bit of luck, stomp all over the opposition with verve and tenacity; if Wayne Rooney keeps his head that is.

As well as being a serious contender for the coveted Golden Boot Award, if England do indeed progress, Wayne Rooney is the key to Englands success in World Cup 2006 and the rest of the team and world know it. The guy is a physiological freak in terms of the sheer power and depth of attack in his possession an...more

November NFL Thoughts

...ing 17 ppg after allowing 24 per game last season. The offense is still short on talent and plays a conservative, grind-it-out style. Notice that the Browns are 7-1 under the total.

The 3-5 Raiders have had a tough schedule and some bitter defeats, losing at home to KC by 6 when a late drive stalled, and at Philly by 3. Sunday's shocking 27-23 loss at Kansas City on the final play was easily the hardest to take. "This is about as bitter a defeat as you could have," said oakland quarterback Kerry Collins afterward. It's the type of loss that could break the back of a team. Watch for any finger-pointing or complaining by oakland players over the next few weeks, especially Randy Moss, who hasn't spoken to the press since early September, which is probably a blessing.

Goal Setting: Pops Proves Its Never Too Late

...nrolled as a freshman at the university of south Carolina.

No, he wasnt considered too old for that. Many others, much older, have pursued college degrees for the first time. What Tim Pops Frisby did was even more special. At an age when even most professional players have hung up there helmets, he began working out with the south Carolina Gamecocks football team during the winter. Working out with players half his age, all of whom were young enough to be his son, he competed for a position on a division One major College Football Team.

It was a goal that Pops had lived with for a long time and he began to realize it when coaches invited him back for fall drills. When south Carolina kicked off their season against the university...more

Never Let Go of Your Dreams or Goals: Compliments are Kryptonite, Doubters are Fuel

...p over the last year.

That summer I got a call (out of the blue) to play professionally over in Germany.

Unlike the advice given to me I HELD on to my vision of playing after college and ironically similar to that micro-organism, I discovered new lands both internally and externally. Plus, I met exotic and interesting people and ate delicious new foods. And made a great living doing so.

It was a defining part of my development.

Let people doubt you. It's okay. Make it your fuel for your fire. Les Brown says, "I make no my vitamin."

When you have this kind of attitude you become a man or woman on a mission.

This is easy to do when you hold a vision in your head so clear you could vividly pull it up on your radar screen- literally and figuratively.

If you think and imagine a new life this builds your foundation for success.

Silence the critics and go after your dream - even if they are people you trust and respect.

Then one day you can write an email about them and you'll enjoy typing every word in your message.
